Natural Diamond Podiatry Burs: The Manufacturing Process

Not all podiatry burs are created the same.

American Medicals’ diamond podiatry burs are manufactured with the highest-quality materials and meet ISO and FDA standards.  The process begins with the best raw materials.  Our burs are made with top quality stainless steel, natural diamonds, and Swiss precision.  Natural diamonds ensure maximum sharpness and absorb more heat than synthetic diamonds.

Highlights of the Manufacturing Process

Electro-plating: creates an even diamond coating and strong bond to the bur.  Capping of the bur ensures that the diamond grains are embedded only to the parts necessary for the bur being manufactured.

Quality Control: Burs are rigorously examined and tested both during and after the manufacturing process.

Cleaning and Vibratory Finishing: grains that have not been completely embedded to the bur are removed during this stage.  The burs also get a final polishing.

This process results in a durable bur with muted, vibration-free concentric operation and outstanding cutting capacity.
