The flat duck beak design gently retracts the vaginal walls, providing unobstructed access to the cervix and surrounding tissues. The instrument can also be used during Pap smears, the insertion of IUDs, biopsies, and other interventions. Its spring-loaded handle facilitates smooth, one-handed opening and closure. The locking screw mechanism securely fixes the blades in position, maintaining optimal exposure throughout the procedure. It is also referred to as a Duck Speculum.
